Welcome to the Ballinasloe Horse Fair and Festival Website

With just weeks to go planning is well underway for this year’s October Fair and Festival

The Ballinasloe October Horse Fair & Festival this year takes place from Saturday 3rd October – Sunday 11th October in Ballinasloe, Co. Galway. Known as the gateway to the West, Ballinasloe is situated on the N6, main Galway - Dublin route.

We are delighted to welcome our main sponsors Carlton Shearwater Hotel Ballinasloe on board again this year as our main sponsor.
This year’s festival committee have planned a wonderful festival, guaranteed to have something for everyone. From the equestrian events which will take place the Fair Green the traditional Horse Fair on Sunday 4th and Monday 5th October. There will also be a traditional Horse Fair on Saturday 10th October There will be music on the streets both weekends, street entertainers and indeed our traditional La Gaelach on Saturday 10th October.

Ballinasloe Ceoltas and The Woodbines will start proceedings on Saturday 3rd and performers such as Richie Kavanagh, The Aftermath and Jerry Fish will play the soundstage on Sunday. The soundstage is sponsored and supported this year by East Night Club and Venue
Festival favourites like the Domac Tug of War, Carlton Hotel Queen of the Fair, and Singing Pubs will liven up the streets of Ballinasloe
It is estimated that the fair & festival is worth in excess of €8.5 million to the local economy and the multi nationalists that attend as well as our local community accumulate a total audience of approx. 85,000.
